Though Dexter fans are anxiously awaiting this week's Season Six finale, a new interview with show star Michael C. Hall was published today, covering, among other things, the inevitable curtain call for the series. That's right: the Dexter final episode is now in sight. Showtime formally announced that the series will continue through Season Eight, giving the show ample time to start building toward a fitting finale. Whether that will involve Dexter's bloody secret life finally being discovered, his ultimate demise, or nothing of the sort, Hall was not quick to say. "It seems like a reasonable thing to think, that things won't end well for the character. But there are no rules. I don't think there's anything we're obliged to say," he told Huffington Post. "I don't know if it's possible to conclude something that people have been spending this much time with in a way that is satisfying to everyone, and if that's your focus, it's going to be hard." He then remarked that they may just throw the audience a curveball, "Maybe he'll walk out and get hit by a bus. Beep! The end." That would surely stir a lot of our dark passengers. Good thing he's joking! Season Six of Dexter concludes this Sunday on Showtime -- a fine excuse to stock up on Popfunk's new Dexter shirts. Supermodel met Superhero in the 2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which aired Tuesday night on CBS. Of all the night's runway looks- which included passion, aquatic, ballet and more- the superhero segment stole our attention.   Nerds across the country squirmed as some of the most beautiful women in the world gave meaning to the term Super Angels. Their outfits did not represent specific famed superheroes, but were merely inspired by the comic book characters. We definitely wouldn't have a problem with these girls fighting crime in next to bare ensembles.  Check out the before and after images below, from concept sketch to final product.  What do you guys think of the Victoria's Secret Supermodels as Superheroes? In the last 41 years, San Diego Comic Con International has established itself as the preeminent comic convention in the United States (not to mention fourth largest in the world), boasting over 130,000 attendees in 2010. However, New York Comic Con, SDCC’s East Coast counterpart since 2006, continues to make its bid for biggest US geek gathering with this weekend’s convention. Expecting to eclipse last year’s attendance mark of 96,000 happy comic enthusiasts, the 2011 New York Comic Con will enlist over 700 exhibitors and 400 artists. Among the participating exhibitors staking a claim on the Jacob Javits Center this weekend are Activision, Capcom, Dark Horse, DC, Hasbro, Marvel and Mattel. Notable artists include Geoff Johns, Jim Lee, Todd McFarlane, Frank Miller and Kevin Smith. Also appearing to throughout the weekend will be Eliza Dushku, Mark Hamil, Rose McGowan, Jason Momoa, Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, and the entire cast of Paramount’s upcoming Avengers movie. Organizers have also landed a first time sponsor in Chevrolet, who plan to make its consumer debut of the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic at the convention. On September 24, The Jim Henson Company celebrated what would have been the 75^th birthday of the famed puppeteer, producer, director and all-around visionary. In a unique collaboration with Google, Jim Henson’s Creature Shop built original digital puppets for the occasion, resulting in a custom Google Doodle – the company’s awesome, often interactive alternative front page logos. To go along with Doodle, Jim’s son Brian (who now runs the family business) wrote a poignant tribute to his father for the Google Blog.

“[Jim Henson] loved games—card games, board games, all kinds of games. He was one of those rare parents who was always ready to play again. He loved dogs, particularly goofy ones. And he lived for those moments when everyone laughed so hard they couldn’t talk. I often walked onto the Muppet set to find everyone just laughing hysterically.”

I have been to several conventions and I’m lucky my wife is just as much of a fan. At my first startup, one of my employees got me the book Make It So: Leadership Lessons from Star Trek. I'm not saying I'm Captain Picard, but one can always dream.’ And why now for a Star Trek PADD app? “We came up with this proposal because, as Star Trek fans, with the launch of the iPad, technology finally hit the point where we could simulate the PADD device,” Shapiro replies. “Then the question was: how do we transport people today into that future universe, and that’s where the conversation with CBS began.” A highlight of the process came when Shapiro and the ArcTouch team offered a demonstration of the app to the Okudas. “(That) was one of the most nerve-wracking moments,” Shapiro recalls. “Michael was the official designer of the LCARS computers displays used in TNG, DS9 and Voyager. Getting Michael and Denise’s approval is a huge feather in our cap.” And, indeed, the Okudas were duly impressed. “My favorite part of the Star Trek PADD app?” Michael Okuda asks, repeating a question just posed to him. “I love being able to use a functional implementation of my LCARS interface style to browse through actual Star Trek information. Back when the PADD first appeared on TNG, none of us imagined that today we’d be able to hold the real thing in our hands. But the Star Trek PADD App, running on your iPad, is an actual miniature, handheld, touch-sensitive, 24th-century-style computer screen.” Adds Denise Okuda, “The Star Trek PADD app shows that yesterday’s visionary science fiction can become today’s real-world technology, thanks to the brilliance of today’s scientists, engineers, programmers, and designers.
