“[Jim Henson] loved games—card games, board games, all kinds of games. He was one of those rare parents who was always ready to play again. He loved dogs, particularly goofy ones. And he lived for those moments when everyone laughed so hard they couldn’t talk. I often walked onto the Muppet set to find everyone just laughing hysterically.”Thanks for the years of laughter, Jim. Posted on September 28, 2011 by PopFunkOn September 24, The Jim Henson Company celebrated what would have been the 75th birthday of the famed puppeteer, producer, director and all-around visionary. In a unique collaboration with Google, Jim Henson’s Creature Shop built original digital puppets for the occasion, resulting in a custom Google Doodle – the company’s awesome, often interactive alternative front page logos. To go along with Doodle, Jim’s son Brian (who now runs the family business) wrote a poignant tribute to his father for the Google Blog.
Posted on June 24, 2011 by PopFunkThis post is brought to you by the Office T Shirt Collection at Popfunk.com, www.tv.ign.com, www.insidetv.ew.com, fanpop.com and hulu.com. After appearing in the Season 7 finale of The Office, three-time Emmy winner James Spader looks to have won the top spot. While no contracts or scripts have been penned, Spader is expected to start his first day as the new CEO; a role his character feels is more suitable. Watch Spader’s audition on the Season 7 episode here. Spader’s character---- Robert California--- will be replacing Kathy Bates and will function in a weekly role as opposed to Bates’ typical guest appearance flow. According to insidetv.ew.com, a source close to the show claims producers felt Spader “kicked ass” and was "too good to pass up." Spader’s odd energy and dry humor is sure to gel with The Office cast and considering his “Everything is sex” commentary there’s no telling what to expect of the ridiculously funny and abstract sitcom. Sound Off: What do you think of James Spader as the newest addition to The Office?
