The History of Aquaman
Aquaman first appeared in DC Comics as far back as 1941 during the “Golden Age” of comic books. A modern-day Poseidon, he is the ruler of Atlantis and one of the founders of the Justice League of America, a group of DC superheroes that began with Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, and Martian Manhunter. There are currently two heroes known as Aquaman: Orin, the original, and Arthur Joseph Curry, his successor. Aquaman's superpowers derive from the fact that he is able to survive in the depths of the ocean. He is able to telepathically communicate with marine life, which he can summon from great distances to battle his foes. His father was from the surface and his mother from the ocean.
