The History of The Flash
The Flash has been a popular DC Comics character since he first appeared on the comic book scene in 1940 as “The World’s Fastest Man.” Known as the Scarlet Speedster, the title of The Flash has been donned by four different superheroes over the years, all of whom have super-human speed. A founding member of the Justice League of America, The Flash fights for good alongside Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Aquaman and Green Lantern. In 1956, DC Comics successfully revived superheroes, ushering in the Silver Age of comic books. Rather than bringing back the same Golden Age heroes, DC Comics reimagined them as new characters for the modern age. The Flash was the first revival. Since that time, he’s had his own comic book, movie, TV series and video game.
