The History of Crusoe
NBC hoped to catch fire with the 2008 television adventure drama, Crusoe, a show about the swash-buckling legend, Robinson Crusoe. Crusoe spotlighted the adventures of a man who’s been shipwrecked on a deserted island and desperately wants to return to his family. The fast-paced NBC series starred British actor Philip Winchester as Robinson Crusoe and was shot almost completely in England. Crusoe’s high-action scenes were intertwined with comedic moments but the network wasn’t happy with its ratings. NBC cancelled Crusoe after 13 episodes, disappointing many fans of the show.
