The History of Simon and Simon
If they were going to survive the bad guys, Rick and AJ Simon first had to survive each other. The CBS Drama Simon and Simon starred Gerald McRaney and Jameson Parker as two siblings who couldn’t be more different, but who decide to go into business together as private detectives nonetheless. Premiering on CBS in 1978, Simon and Simon was a different kind of Detective Television Series. The contrasting ways that the Simon brothers conducted their investigations—and the conflict that caused—provide most of the storyline for each action-packed episode. Set in San Diego, California, Simon and Simon eventually caught on with TV Crime fans and managed an eight-year-run on CBS. The show even had a memorable cross-over episode with Magnum, P.I., though Simon and Simon never enjoyed the huge success Magnum did.
