The History of Word World
Word World is a magical place where words come alive. The animated PBS Series is designed for 3- to 7-year-olds and is immensely popular with kids and parents alike. Word World has massive global appeal, airing in 10 languages and 90 countries, including on PBS Kids in the United States. The show stars Duck and his word-friends. Each character’s body is composed of three dimensional letters that spell that animal’s name. For example the main character, Duck, has a body that appears to be made of the letters d, u, c, and k. In Word World, Duck embarks on a series of adventures where the only way to save the day is buy spelling a word. When a word is built correctly, it morphs into the thing it represents, which gives instant meaning to the word and makes learning to read a playful and entertaining experience for young children.
