Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman was a post Civil War drama set in 1867. The show chronicles Michaela Quinn, who moves from Boston to a small town in Colorado to be a physician and open her own practice. Though proving herself as a female physician and adjusting to small town life in the 1800s seemed difficult, Dr. Quinn found love, gave medical aid to the townspeople, and became an adoptive mother to the children of her late friend.
