The History of The Justice League
The Justice League of America didn’t stop with Superman and Batman. DC Comics’ famous collection of Superheroes went on to include such members as Red Tornado, Firestorm, The Atom, Zatanna and Black Lightning—one of the first African American Superheroes. Every member of the Justice League brings a different superpower to the table. Red Tornado can create powerful air currents that level huge skyscrapers in seconds. The Atom harnesses the power of protons and electrons to destroy his enemies. Firestorm aka The Nuclear Man has power over fire and heat, and can alter the atomic structure of any object. Zatanna is a powerful magician who uses her backwards-speaking spells as a stage performer. The Justice League concept spawned its own animated series, Super Friends, which ran from 1973 to 1986 on ABC as part of its Saturday morning cartoon lineup.
