The History of Night Gallery
Following the success of The Twilight Zone, Rod Serling returned to host Night Gallery, an anthology series that like its predecessor, told a different frightening story in every episode. Serling served as the on-air host of Night Gallery and as a script writer. Each installment of Night Gallery began inside an art gallery with the viewing of a painting that matched that evening’s storyline. Horrors Fans quickly fell in love with the show, which aired on NBC for four seasons from 1970 to 1973. Night Gallery regularly presented adaptations of classic fantasy tales, but all with a scary, ironic twist. In 2004, Season 1 of Night Gallery was released on DVD.
