One of DC Comics’ original superheroes, Green Lantern is the name taken by those who possess the Green Power Ring, a man-made device which allows its owners to manifest their thoughts into powerful beams of light. The Green Lantern is often represented in comic books by just the symbol of the green ring. In modern times, his image has been used to endorse environmentally-friendly, or “green” practices.
