The History of the Justice League
The first family of comic books, Justice League of America, is a team of DC superheroes sworn to protect the DC Universe. Created by DC Comics in 1960, the founding members of the Justice League are Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter. Three of DC's other surviving superheroes—Green Arrow, Atom, and Hawkman—were added to the roster over the next four years. The lineup has changed countless times throughout the years but team members have always represented the most popular DC superheroes. The Justice League had its own comic book series from 1960 until 1987. Various series featuring the Justice League have remained popular with fans since their inception.
