The History of Blind Date
When Blind Date first appeared on TV screens in 1996, the reality TV dating show was groundbreaking television. Hosted by Roger Lodge, Blind Date captured the hilarity of two strangers on their first date together. Cameras followed the couples’ every move while witty and often-biting animated commentary appeared on the screen. Many of the dates on Blind Date ended in complete disaster, adding to the comedic appeal of the dating show. Blind Date aired until 2006, and many of its clips are considered reality TV classics. Roger Lodge is still best remembered as the host of Blind Date, which is owned by NBC Universal. It still appears in syndication today.
